Turn a window into a door
If you’ve always wished you could step straight out to the deck or yard, we can often convert an existing window opening into a sliding door. Our crew does all of it: cutting the opening, framing and header work, installing the door, and patching the siding and interior trim so it looks like it’s always been there.
We’ll look at the wall during your estimate and let you know if the conversion is practical and whether a permit is needed.

Can you turn a window into a sliding glass door?
Yes. We’ve converted many window openings into patio doors. It means cutting the opening down to the floor, re-framing, installing the door and finishing the siding and trim. This kind of structural change usually needs a permit, and we’ll explain that during your estimate.
My slider is hard to open. Does it need replacing?
Sometimes a sticking door just needs new rollers or a cleaned track. If the frame is bent, the seals have failed, or it’s an old aluminum slider with single-pane glass, replacing it usually makes more sense. We’ll tell you honestly which one it is.
Is patio door glass safety glass?
Yes. Building code requires tempered safety glass in doors, and every patio door we install has it. Low-E coatings and argon fill are standard for energy efficiency.
How long does a patio door replacement take?
A straight swap of an existing slider is usually done in a day. Converting a window into a door takes longer because of the framing and finish work.
